Pulse Privacy
Plain-language privacy notes for the NHUE Pulse community feed.
Pulse Privacy Notes
This is written to be clear for community members, not buried in confusing legal wording. Before public launch, you can still replace or expand this text if you want a formal policy.
What Pulse stores
Pulse stores the account information needed to run the community feed, such as handle, display name, email address, password hash, birthday/age-safety status, profile text, profile images, follows, posts, replies, reactions, Dispatches, bookmarks, reports, notifications, personal content filters, Spaces, and Direct Messages.
Email and account safety
Pulse uses email for account verification, password reset, and future account/community notices. Pulse accounts are separate from the main WordPress login system.
Images and storage
Temporary post image uploads are stored in the user’s Pulse handle folder and are automatically removed after the configured retention period. Profile pictures and profile banners are persistent until changed or removed. External image links and YouTube links do not use NHUE storage.
Age and mature content
Pulse uses the birthday entered during signup for age-safety behavior. Mature/NSFW posts are hidden by default, users under 18 cannot view them through Pulse, and users under 13 cannot create accounts.
Moderation
Pulse Admins and Moderators may review reports, hide posts/media, mark mature content, suspend accounts, and use moderation logs to keep the feed safe and useful.
