This was a huge 3D Editor update for NHUE.

Surface Forge made the biggest jump. It has grown into a much deeper UV and surface-prep workspace with native Editable Mesh 2.0 support, UV layout export, island tools, UV health checks, seams and pins, stitch/rip/weld tools, relax and stretch tools, heatmap previews, seam-based unwrap, solver unwrap, organic/character unwrap, project-from-view, pelt/peel unwrap, hard-surface/mechanical atlas unwrap, quad strip/rectify unwrap, and UDIM/multi-tile layouts.

Editable Mesh 2.0 also moved forward in several big ways. Import/export support is stronger, Mesh2 modifier support is wider, and the 3D Editor now has more native Mesh2 modeling tools such as Delete 2.0, Dissolve 2.0, Inset 2.0, Bevel 2.0, and Smoothing 2.0.

The 3D Editor also gained a real top-level Diagnostics menu with quick copy/refresh tools and smaller reports for live status, selection/backend, Editable Mesh 2.0, mesh health, modifier stack, format IO, and event trail.

On the procedural side, the Modular Skyscraper Generator has become a large architecture tool with many presets, footprint shapes, roof types, and separated material roles.

The other editors did not show the same kind of source jump in this weekly review, so this update is best described as a 3D Editor, Surface Forge, and Editable Mesh 2.0 week.

Why This Matters

This update matters because the 3D Editor is moving closer to being a serious modeling and surface-prep environment inside NHUE.Surface Forge is no longer only a basic UV helper. It is becoming a dedicated workspace for UV layout, unwrap testing, inspection, packing, repair, stretch review, and asset-specific workflows such as character unwraps, mechanical unwraps, strip unwraps, and multi-tile layouts.Editable Mesh 2.0 is also becoming more than a mesh data path. It now connects into import/export, modifiers, modeling tools, diagnostics, and procedural generation work.Together, these systems push NHUE closer to its larger goal: a connected Unity editor environment where models, UVs, materials, prefabs, terrain, images, and scene content can be worked on under one NHUE roof.

Next Focus

Keep testing Surface Forge on many mesh types, especially character meshes, tanks, hard-surface props, strip meshes, and larger assets.Keep validating EM2 import/export routes, modifier behavior, LOD output, greeble/panelize, smoothing, and modeling operations across different imported models.Capture new public screenshots for Surface Forge, mechanical atlas unwrap, quad strip unwrap, UDIM layouts, stretch heatmaps, diagnostics, and the Skyscraper Generator.
